In business as well as our normal daily lives, we are constantly being bombarded by various forms of visual media trying to change the way we think, act, make a purchase, and make decisions in our lives. In business we have the added stress of "change speed" that requires making split second decisions to keep us ahead of the curve with competition.
With all the rapid change wars in corporate culture happening around us, our ability to visually depict concepts, processes, dynamic systems and human factors in an organization are becoming increasingly useful and powerful.
Vision Mapping with cartoon art is -"powerful stuff". It has been part of our culture and depicted the human spirit and change for over 1oo years, reflecting a perception of reality back to us causing people to recognize some aspect of themselves in each picture, to see something new or react to something old or wrong. Cartoons create an easy on the mind platform to enlist spontaneous responses both positive and negative about who we are and what the pulse of society is, right now.
Every cartoon vision map is a story. Every story is about people and people interaction. Even when the character in the story is a simple illustration given some personality, the viewer will respond to the image emotionally, and the story your are offering visually will become much more real to them.
Seeing ourselves through other eyes helps us come to grips with reality we don't normally admit exist. This also tends to excite us and cause us to want to talk to someone (anybody) about "our world". The "talking with" becomes dialogue, a common understanding; a different sort of communications from the more common business communication of "discussion" or "debate" forms of stating our ideas or relating issues.
The "goal of Visual Creatography" is to help people cope with and understand change, telling it and showing it visually- "like it is".
